No matter where our clients are in their business, we are always ready to discuss their next steps. Even during our Ecommerce Action Plan (EAP) phase, we’re thinking about what we could be doing to help them make their business even better.
With our EAPs, we have a lot of fun working with clients who are at different places on the road to business success. Some are just getting started: their Shopify website is their first website and the first time they’re able to show the world their brand new business. Others are replatforming and reorganizing themselves: they’re excited to see the benefits of having Shopify take care of their website and ecommerce so they can spend more time on other business priorities.
Ongoing relationships
Our finished EAPs are complete roadmaps in themselves, designed to get our clients up and running. But, more often than not, we continue to work with them. After completing the EAP process, we have a solid understanding of their objectives, goals and customers. At this point, we’ve never known their business better, which means we’re able to offer valuable insight into where those next steps should take them.
During the EAP, we discover which features are required from our user stories exploration, which examines each user and what they will need to get the most from our client’s website. These might include:
- Homepage videos to show how a product works
- Image zoom or AR to see the finer details of a product
- Product quick view so customers can easily shop from a collection page
For a new business, we may start them off with the prebuilt Shopify theme that best fits their needs. Sometimes, however, there may be a few must-have and hope-to-have features missing from the prebuilt themes available. In this case, we proceed. We don’t let these hope-to-have features slow down the launch; we want our client to be able to spread the news and sell products/services as soon as they can. So, we put them aside to consider and keep them in mind as we start to learn about how their customers behave.
Custom Implementation & Launch phase
Ultimately, when our clients are ready to conquer the next steps, we consider these options:
- Make custom adjustments to the existing theme;
- Create a custom theme;
- Add an existing app from the Shopify app store; and/or
- Create a custom app for the client’s needs.
We typically implement Google Analytics or similar tools to augment each Shopify website’s built-in analytics. Therefore, we have access to data-driven reports that help inform our decisions about what needs to be changed and/or added. These tools combine to provide insight into what is actually happening with client’s campaigns, marketing/sales channels and on-site behaviours like conversion rates.
Data-driven design and website fitness: Growth and Optimization Phase
Every new or updated campaign, webpage, product or touch point should be purposeful. This allows us to achieve business outcomes that can be measured and improved upon continually over time. This planning and measurement approach is distinctly different from random changes based on intuition, or copying what may appear to be working for competitors.
We offer targeted strategic and creative services and training to develop and improve your brand, marketing and graphic design.
If it’s the right thing to do, we’ll make it happen
We want our clients to succeed, so we’re always going to help them get to the next right step. We invest our time, skills and yes, even some heart and soul in getting them there because we’re proud that we could play a part. Even more than that, it’s fun to watch them gain the recognition they deserve.
