Introducing a Toronto house of music with European roots to Shopify
Located in Toronto since 1959, Remenyi House of Music has an almost 130-year history that goes all the way back to a small violin shop in Budapest in 1890. Today, the established music store is operated by the founder’s grandson, the third generation committed to musical excellence.
Remenyi contacted us to help them combine their century-old reputation with a custom-built, contemporary ecommerce store. We have a lot of musicians and music lovers on staff so we had a particular interest in the Remenyi Shopify project.
- Web Design
- Custom Shopify Theme Development
We wanted to carry the Remenyi history and family tradition throughout the website, while still remaining modern and clean. By spreading their collection of old family photographs throughout we set a tone of tradition, experience, and authenticity. Juxtaposing these with strong header images on department pages added the right amount of class and sophistication.
Remenyi has a massive catalogue of products available online (15,000+). This meant we had to have a fairly complex organization of nested collections and tags to make sure shopping felt easy and seamless to customers. We spent a lot of time customizing filters by departments to create the ideal shopping experience for customers.
Sage 300 integration
Remenyi has been working with Sage 300 for some time. They have an organized operation with complex optional fields and categories. We worked with our partners, eBridge, to integrate Remenyi's Shopify website with their Sage 300 accounting system and make sure managing products and balancing the books would feel seamless.
Musicians, music lovers, and renowned artists from around the world have been visiting Remenyi for decades for their expertise. Their fine craftsmanship is world-class and they have one of the most acclaimed selections of quality pianos, guitars, string instruments, and books and sheet music. We’re very proud to have worked with the Remenyi team and excited to watch their growth continue.
