This is a salaried full-time position. Digital agency experience, or experience working with Shopify is preferred but not required (you can learn this on the job). We will consider candidates interested in relocating to Halifax, Nova Scotia – but no telecommuting.


Job Responsibilities

  • Leads organizational processes, protocols, practices
  • Manages scope, schedule, and budget to deliver projects profitably
  • Serves as primary point of contact for clients for both new projects and ongoing support
  • Schedules, coordinates all phases (from inception to completion) of new project/maintenance tasks with Project Team
  • Manages internal and external resources, and is responsible for the profitability
  • Plans and leads meetings (internal and with clients) covering tactical and project/scheduling details
  • Establishes and grows expert level knowledge of ecommerce, modern web standards, and industry trends
  • Provides ad hoc administrative support to designers, engineers, sales as schedule permits
  • Analyzes internal processes on ongoing basis to look for ways to improve efficiency, quality, team dynamics
  • Documents all ongoing job process intelligence for future reference
  • Creates regular content for the Able Sense blog, and edits content submissions from other team members
  • Manages semi-regular updates to the company’s social media presence

For new projects

  • Gathers all project summary, other client background
  • Creates project kickoff documentation
  • Schedules and leads project kickoff meeting with client and other pertinent personnel
  • Provides UX leadership and best practices throughout project
  • Documents all meeting interactions, follows through with summary to client, and project team; collects all assets necessary from client
  • Initiates internal creative/project brief document to be shared with project team
  • Creates Project schedule with checkpoints, coordinates with management to properly staff project team
  • Schedules, co-leads (with Design team member) creative presentation meetings
  • Communicates regularly with client, management, and project team to ensure scheduling milestones are met
  • Facilitates content and technical project if skills/schedule permit
  • Manages website quality assurance and site launch process; print project proof/fulfillment process, plus all other media fulfillment processes
  • Trains clients on basic editing and content management

For maintenance tasks/requests

  • Documents, analyzes, parses new projects and maintenance requests before assigning to project team.
  • For simple content updates, offers advice and/or assistance to the client.
  • For more complex tasks, confers with management and/or developer to evaluate best approach (may mean pushing back on client request)
  • Manages quality assurance, and task fulfillment

Required Skills

  • Proposal writing
  • Budgeting and estimating professional services work
  • Communication with clients and internal team
  • Planning and running project meetings
  • Managing scope, schedule, budget, time tracking for multiple projects
  • Experience with billing and responsibility for project profitability
  • Experience with Shopify is an asset but not required (we can teach you)
  • Experience using SaaS for project management, time tracking, and billing
