With locations in San Francisco and Palo Alto, Biondivino was the first wine boutique in California to focus entirely on the artisanal gems of Italy.

Biondivino came to us in need of a fresh and modern online shop. One that echoed the clean, European influence of their popular California wine shops. We were excited to support Biondivino with a custom Shopify implementation and bring their expertise in Italian wines to customers throughout the US.

Shopping experience

Customers often browse in Biondivino's brick and mortar stores by region, grape, type, or style. We knew we needed some sophisticated filtering options to provide a similar experience in the online collections. We used Shopify's tags so customers could tailor their online shopping experience and make it as focussed or as broad as they wish.

Map of Italy

The map of Italy is a beautiful and more interactive way to see Biondivino's diverse Italian wine collection online. Customers can select regions and see short descriptions that might include the typical grapes grown in each area, what the climate is like, and what makes each region unique. From here, customers can see what wines Biondivino offers in each region and add them directly to their cart.

Wine club

We brought the Biondivino wine club online, helping them extend their membership opportunities to customers living outside of San Francisco and Palo Alto. For these adventurous wine club members, Biondivino makes a monthly selection of their favourite red and white wines and offers them in either two or three bottle bundles. Customers can even gift a wine club subscription online.

Email marketing

With their new Shopify store up and running, the team at Biondivino was ready to take their promotion to the next level. We created Mailchimp templates to help them reach out to their existing and future customers, and ensure the Biondivino online shopping experience was seamless – from email marketing to order notification. Biondivino could now showcase featured wines, and highlight their Wine Club and events.
