At work

Aaron attributes his fascination with web development in part to simply being born at the right time: the web was starting to become really useful for people and businesses just as Aaron was finishing university and considering his career path. Some of Aaron’s earliest work was with companies at the forefront of web broadcasting, photo sharing, and targeted advertising using metadata – things that have only more recently become familiar components of our online experience.

Aaron appreciates convenience, elegance, and efficiency and believes the web makes it possible to put these at the centre of everything we do. In thirteen years working as a producer, developer, and agency general manager, he has delivered web projects for gigantic, medium, and small clients, including RBC Royal Bank, Toronto Stock Exchange, Novo Nordisk, Samsung, Epson, Kodak, Province of Nova Scotia, State of Georgia, and Grand Pré Wines. He has worked at multi-million dollar venture-funded start-ups and at privately held businesses that are content to “just make a profit each month” while staying small.

Aaron started Able Sense Media in January 2010 to realize the freedoms, challenges, and rewards of entrepreneurship – and, most of all, to make great websites for and with amazing people. To be able to do all that without having to wear a necktie to work has just been an added bonus.

An internet business innovator with experience in product development, web application development, crafting user experience, and managing online business, today at Able Sense Aaron is still very much involved on the development side, working with standards-based HTML/JS/CSS and LAMP frameworks.

At play

A frustrated golfer, fly fisher, and musician, Aaron nonetheless keeps coming back for the small victories. He loves spending time in the backyard garden that supplies his family with vegetables, herbs, and berries. Aaron can be found, often winded, at Ultimate, or gallantly defending his crops from slugs and cats.
